Solar system

Hii , welcome to my post. Today we are going to know about solar system. So let's start.

• The Solar System is the gravitationally bound system of the Sun and the objects that orbit it.

• It formed 4.6 billion years ago from the   gravitational collapse of a giant interstellar           molecular cloud.

•Formation of solar system is described by bing bang theory.

• Solar system consist of 8 planets . Before 2006 there were 9 planets in the solar system, but in 2006 the ninth planet "Pluto" was removed from our solar system.

• The order of the planets in the solar system,               starting nearest the sun and working outward is       the following: Mercury, Venus, Earth Mars,                 Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and then the           possible Planet Nine Pluto.

•The solar system extends from the sun, goes past      the four inner planets, through the asteroid belt       (between earth and Mars) to the four gas giants         and on to the disk-shaped Kuiper Belt and far             beyond to the teardrop-shaped heliopause.

• The solar system consists of four inner system planets and four giants planets.

• The four inner system planets - Mercury , Venus ,       Earth and Mars.

 (i)  These  four inner system planets are                             terrestrial planets.

(ii) these planets are composed primarily of rocks.         and metal.

• The four giants planets of the outer system -               Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.

   (i)  These planets are substantially large and.                   more massive than terrestrials planets.

(ii) The two largest , Jupiter and Saturn, are gas               giants.

These two are composed mainly of hydrogen              and helium.

(iii) The next two , Uranus and Neptune , are ice               giants.

These two are composed mostly of volatile                  substances with relatively high melting                        points compared with hydrogen and helium,              such as water, ammonia, and methane.

 •  All eight planets revolve around the Sun in                nearly circular orbits that lie near the plane of          Earth's orbit, called the ecliptic.

                                 Thankyou .
